Partnership ending Tweet

Official Statement

We hope this statement finds you well. We are writing to inform you of an important decision that our organization has made regarding our partnership with the united steelworkers union (usw). We want to inform all players (usfl and fl) that our partnership with the usw has ended.

Our organization has always been committed to promoting the well-being and interests of football players, and we firmly believe in the power of unity and collective action. We believe that our only way to achieve this is by going independent with our players association moving forward.

Over the last few months, the united football players association has been shut out from participating in any involvement with the usfl and xfl merger. What we know as of right now is that these two major companies have come together and there will be a 50% cut to our jobs as players which has resulted in almost a $20 million cut from the player salary pool. There has been nothing added to player salaries going into this new year despite laying off half of the players. Usw has stood by and allowed this to happen without taking any action to mitigate the loss of jobs and income of players.

We have engaged in extensive discussions, consultations, and evaluations to ensure that we are making the best choice for the players. We remain committed to transparency and open dialogue and encourage all football players to voice their concerns, suggestions, and aspirations as we embark on this new chapter.

Moving forward, we will begin the card authorization process for the ufpa to be recognized to represent players moving forward to ensure our voices as players are heard. We will be in contact with all players.

Thank you for your continued support, and we look forward to embarking on this new journey together.

Sincerely,

Kenneth farrow

Ufpa president
